Education I am currently a PhD student at University of Hawai'i at Manoa and in the Culture and Religion Lab working with Joni Sasaki. Before coming to University of Hawai'i, I did my undergraduate studies at Oberlin College in Ohio. At Oberlin College, I worked on an independent research project on how different styles of power use were differently effective in different cultures with Cindy Frantz. After graduating Oberlin College, I went to Korea to pursue my master's degree where I worked with Young Hoon Kim at Yonsei University. During my master's, I worked on projects on the influence of emotion suppression in different cultures as well as the self in Face and Dignity Cultures. My master's thesis was on the factors influencing people's judgments of others' nationality which included people's appearance, fluency in language and their parents' nationality.
